Why this rank, Canaves Oia Epitome opened in 2018 as the third Canaves property in Oia and the flagship of the family-owned Canaves group. The Chatzigeorgiou family has operated Canaves properties in Oia since 1986. Canaves Oia Epitome opened in 2017 as the third property in the Chaidemenos family's Canaves Oia portfolio (after Canaves Oia Suites in 1985 and Canaves Oia Boutique in 2002), and as the family's deliberate response to the international shift toward all-villa, every-pool-private inventory that defined the late-2010s luxury programme.
