The Hotel

Watersound Inn opened in 2004 as the first hospitality property inside the Watersound master-plan, two decades before Camp Creek Inn followed it. The property occupies the Gulf-front parcel directly off County Road 30A at the eastern end of the Watersound community, a four-storey structure dressed in pale shingle and white cypress with the Anglo-Caribbean vocabulary that the rest of Watersound was later built around. The inn was deliberately sized small from the start: only eleven keys, all of them suites, all of them beachfront, the only Florida-Panhandle property of its scale operated under a single hotel licence.

The eleven suites split into two categories. Resort Suites at approximately 730 square feet have a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, and the cozy dining nook that defines the inn's small-but-residential format. Premium Resort Suites at 900 to 950 square feet add a more spacious living-room footprint and the largest of the inn's private balconies, all of which face directly Gulf-front. Every suite has a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and the private balcony, the inn is designed to be lived in for a week, not just slept in for a weekend. Interiors run cream and bone with bleached oak floors, sand-coloured rugs, and the deep upholstered furniture the rest of the corridor's small inns rarely match.

The inn does not operate its own restaurant, by design. Guests are routed via the complimentary Watersound shuttle to the Watersound Beach Club's restaurant, to the Tipsy Turtle at Camp Creek Inn, and to the breakfast service at The Lookout. The Watersound Club Member-for-a-Stay programme included with every booking opens the same catalogue Camp Creek Inn guests access: tee times at Camp Creek, Shark's Tooth, and The Third golf courses, the racquet centre, the Wellness Centre, the day-camp at Camp Watersound, and the Beach Club's pool deck. The inn's own pool deck is the smallest on the Watersound footprint and the only one essentially private to inn guests.

Service runs at small-property standards: the same front-desk team manages every booking, the housekeeping schedule is light-touch by request, and the inn's manager handles every difficult arrangement personally. The clientele is overwhelmingly returning: the same eleven suites tend to book the same eleven weeks each year. For 30A travellers who want a beachfront suite with the Watersound Club private-membership infrastructure but without the small-hotel scale of Camp Creek, Watersound Inn is the corridor's only answer at this size.
