The property is the singular hospitality project of British music-industry executives Jon Baker and Steve Beaver, who acquired the original Geejam estate in the 2000s as a working recording-studio property, the Geejam Studios were initially built as Baker's personal music-production studio for the broader Port-Antonio-music-industry segment, and the 10-key luxury hotel was added across the 2010s as the studio's structural artist-in-residence accommodation.
