"The only Lima hotel where the Pacific is the décor, every suite is on the Malecón, every window opens onto the cliff and the ocean, and the rooftop pool finishes the sentence."

The Hotel

Miraflores Park opened in 1996 as part of the original Orient-Express collection, the predecessor brand to Belmond, which acquired the property in the 2014 rebrand, and remains the only Belmond hotel in Lima. The architecture is a contemporary high-rise rather than a historic conversion: 11 floors stepping up from the Malecón de la Reserva, the cliffside boulevard that runs the length of Miraflores' clifftop park overlooking the Pacific. The building's central proposition, present from day one, is that every guest room faces the ocean, there are no street-side keys, no airshaft rooms, no rear-courtyard compromise. The all-suite configuration is unusual in this segment of the South American luxury market and reads as the hotel's most considered design decision.

The 89 suites are all configured as one-bedroom layouts (45, 110 m²) with a separate sitting area and bay-windowed sea view. Entry-tier Deluxe Suites at 45 square metres are larger than most South American five-star standard rooms; Premier Suites occupy the upper floors with broader Pacific outlooks; the Belmond Suite is the top-floor corner with wraparound terrace. A comprehensive Daniel Romualdez-led renovation completed in stages through 2020 refreshed every guest room, brought the bathrooms to a contemporary marble standard, and added Peruvian textiles, alpaca throws, and indigenous artwork as the dominant new design language. The hotel will undergo additional renovation work from January through June 2026, phased so the property remains operational with reduced room counts.

Tragaluz is the headline restaurant, a Peruvian-Mediterranean kitchen run since the 2020 reopening with a clear bias toward the Lima new-wave (Maido, Central) generation's vocabulary executed in a hotel idiom. Mesa 18 by Toshiro Konishi (the legendary Lima Nikkei chef who died in 2016 but whose protégés continue his vision) handles Japanese-Peruvian dining; the rooftop pool bar serves casual lunch with the best Pacific outlook of any hotel pool in the city. Afternoon tea in the lobby is the most considered ceremony of its kind in Peru, pisco-infused service, alfajores, and the kind of room rate that demands it.

For Lima honeymoons, anniversaries, and pre-Machu Picchu launch nights, the Belmond Miraflores Park has been the obvious answer for thirty years. The ocean view from every suite, the rooftop pool, the clifftop park immediately outside, and the Belmond service tradition, particularly visible in the concierge's coordination with Belmond's other Peruvian properties (Hotel Monasterio in Cusco, Hotel das Cataratas at Iguazú, the Andean Explorer rail), produce the most cleanly executed Lima hotel experience in the city. Service standards are the highest in Peru. The hotel is the country's most consistently top-rated five-star.

Best Occasion Fit

Honeymoon

For Peru honeymoons the standard route is Lima → Cusco → Machu Picchu → Lima, and Belmond runs all three legs (Miraflores Park, Hotel Monasterio, Sanctuary Lodge), with the concierge desk coordinating across the trip. A Premier Suite for the opening and closing Lima nights; sunset on the Malecón park; Maido for dinner. The smoothest honeymoon operation in South America.

Anniversary

Tragaluz is the most decorated hotel dining room in Lima and handles anniversary dinners reflexively; the Belmond Suite has a private terrace for in-suite proposals and milestone celebrations. The rooftop pool is the city's most romantic, and the lobby afternoon tea is a small ceremony in its own right.

Proposal

The Belmond Suite's wraparound terrace is set up for Pacific-sunset proposals on a near-weekly basis. The concierge will arrange a quiet Tragaluz private dining nook, the rooftop pool clearance for sunset, or a sunset-walk pickup along the Malecón park, and will absorb the logistics with the discretion of a 30-year-old grand hotel.
