Salalah Rotana Resort opened in 2017 as the anchor property of the Salalah Beach development on the Al Saadah coast, twenty kilometres east of Salalah city and an easy half-hour from Salalah International Airport. The resort is part of the broader Salalah Beach masterplan, a phased tourism investment by the Sultanate of Oman intended to give the Dhofar region a properly serviced international resort cluster. Khareef season (June, September) is the obvious window, the Dhofar monsoon turns the surrounding mountains green and drops daytime highs into the low 30s, but the resort runs year-round with school-holiday rates spiking only at Eid and Christmas-New Year.
For honeymoons that prioritise beach and price over hush, the Sea View suites at the eastern end of the resort offer the most isolation; the Bodrum Beach Club is the adults-only retreat. The kilometre of beach makes private sundowner setups straightforward; the spa runs couple's hammam programmes at rates that the regional ultra-luxury properties simply don't match. Not the answer if absolute seclusion is the brief, but a strong-value choice for first-honeymoon budgets.
