The Hotel

Tropicana Atlantic City opened on November 23, 1981, as the city's seventh post-legalization casino, at the south end of the Boardwalk at Brighton Avenue. The property was developed by Ramada Inns as the Atlantic City counterpart to its Tropicana Las Vegas flagship, and was acquired by Caesars Entertainment in 2018 from Eldorado Resorts. Seven separate hotel towers (the 1981 North Tower with the original 521 rooms, the 1989 South Tower with 379 rooms, the 1996 Solana Tower with 604 rooms as the largest, plus four additional later towers) combine into a guest-room inventory of approximately 2,400 rooms that makes Tropicana the largest hotel in the state of New Jersey by room count.

Guest rooms vary by tower and by category. The Solana Tower (formerly the West Tower) holds the contemporary post-2016-renovation inventory with the Boardwalk-and-Atlantic view, the South Tower handles the entry-level price point, and the North Tower retains the heritage 1981-opening character. A more than $200 million renovation programme completed in 2016 refreshed over 900 guest rooms, the casino floor, and the public spaces; phased room refreshes have continued into the Caesars Entertainment era. Premium suite categories include the Havana Suite, the Tropicana Penthouse, and the Pavilion Suites; all suite categories feature Caesars Diamond Lounge access and dedicated casino-host service.

The defining architectural asset is The Quarter at Tropicana, a 200,000-square-foot Old Havana-themed retail-and-dining complex built into the property at the south end of the Boardwalk. The Quarter contains over twenty-five restaurants and shops including Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar (the Guillermo Pernot Cuban-classic concept), Carmine's Italian (the New York family-style transplant), P.F. Chang's, Hooters, Red Square (the vodka bar with the floor-mounted Lenin statue), and the IMAX Theatre at Tropicana, the city's only IMAX screen. No other Atlantic City casino has a themed retail district of this scale built into the building itself.

The 148,000-square-foot casino floor runs 2,200 slot machines, 130 table games, the dedicated Poker Room (one of the city's busiest), and the Tropicana Sportsbook by William Hill. The Boardwalk Beach Bar at Tropicana is the property's signature summer asset, the only directly-on-the-sand cocktail venue at any Atlantic City casino. The 122,000-square-foot conference and exhibit space across two levels handles substantial group business; the 2,000-seat Tropicana Showroom runs continuous resident-act programming. For travellers wanting a south-Boardwalk casino with the Quarter built-in retail anchor and the most competitive Caesars-Rewards weeknight rates in the city, Tropicana remains a continuous reference.

Best Occasion Fit

Family Holiday

The IMAX Theatre at the Quarter is the city's only IMAX screen and the most family-credible single asset at any Atlantic City casino, the connecting-room categories across the Solana Tower handle parents-plus-kids configurations, and Carmine's Italian runs the most kid-acceptable family dining in town. The Boardwalk Beach Bar separation from the casino floor keeps the family programme contained.

Bachelor / Bachelorette

The Quarter retail-and-dining district handles group itineraries without leaving the building, Red Square and Cuba Libre run the city's most credible group-dinner programme, the Boardwalk Beach Bar is the city's only direct-on-sand cocktail venue, and the Caesars Rewards group-host coordination can be arranged across the Solana Tower. Tropicana Showroom resident acts add a built-in entertainment hook.

Business

The 122,000-square-foot conference and exhibit space across two levels, the South Tower entry-price inventory for full-group accommodations, the Solana Tower premium category for executives, and the Quarter dining selection for client entertainment make Tropicana operationally credible for medium-to-large groups. Caesars Rewards Diamond and Seven Stars tiers receive priority Solana Tower placement.
