The Water Club at Borgata

The 43-story 800-room luxury tower adjacent to the main Borgata complex, with five heated indoor and outdoor pools, the 36,000-square-foot Immersion spa on the 32nd floor, and dedicated lounges and entrance that keep the room product cleanly separate from the casino floor next door.

"The room product Atlantic City rarely produces: a five-star tower with full Borgata adjacency that nonetheless lets you forget the casino exists if you want to."

The Hotel

The Water Club opened on June 26, 2008, as a $400 million all-suite expansion to the adjacent Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City's Marina District. Designed by Bower Lewis Thrower with interiors by David Rockwell, the 43-story glass tower was conceived as a luxury non-casino-floor product (a five-star room offering inside a casino complex) and the city's first attempt at separating room-product quality from gaming-floor proximity. The property was rebranded MGM Tower at Borgata in 2024 following MGM Resorts International's consolidation of the Borgata complex, although the Water Club name continues to be widely used and is the branding still used at the on-property lobby, the pool deck, and the spa.

All 800 accommodations are configured as oversized rooms (500+ square feet) or suites; the entry tier is the Water Club Premier (500 square feet, marina-side or bay-side, refreshed in the 2021-2022 phased renovation with white-and-grey palette, marble bathrooms with two-person soaking tubs, and floor-to-ceiling glass), with categories stepping up through the Water Club Suite (around 900 square feet, separate sitting room), the Penthouse Suite (1,500 square feet, two bedrooms), and the topmost Opus Suite (3,500 square feet, top floors, panoramic Atlantic-and-Marina views). Every floor includes a dedicated guest lounge; the Water Club Concierge desk handles a guest experience entirely separate from the Borgata main lobby.

The pool programme is the property's central physical proposition: five heated indoor and outdoor pools across two pool decks (the indoor adult-only Glass Pool with its full glass facade looking across the Marina, the outdoor adult-only Mosaic Pool with cabana service, the rooftop Sunset Pool open seasonally, and two heated family-friendly pools), supplemented by hot tubs and a quiet lounge programme. Immersion, the 36,000-square-foot two-floor signature spa on the 32nd and 33rd floors, runs 22 treatment rooms with floor-to-ceiling glass and the only spa relaxation lounge in Atlantic City that delivers a clean Atlantic horizon view at altitude. The fitness centre is on the 32nd floor with the same views.

Dining within the Water Club tower itself is intentionally limited to support the resort-within-a-resort character: the Water Bar (lobby-level cocktails), the Sunroom (all-day light dining), the pool-side service rooms, and twenty-four-hour in-room dining; the full seventeen-restaurant Borgata programme (Bobby Flay Steak, Old Homestead, Wolfgang Puck American Grille, Angeline by Michael Symon, Izakaya by Michael Schulson) is reached via the connecting interior hallway in under five minutes. For couples and wellness travellers wanting Borgata's depth of experience without the casino-floor aesthetic, the Water Club is the only Atlantic City property that solves the brief; for bachelor or party groups who want the casino-floor energy, Borgata main tower next door is the answer.

Best Occasion Fit

Anniversary

The Water Club is the only Atlantic City property with an anniversary product that withstands genuine scrutiny. The Water Club Suite tier with the two-person soaking tub and Marina view, Bobby Flay Steak or Old Homestead at dinner, Immersion spa with the 32nd-floor Atlantic-horizon couples treatment room, and the Glass Pool in the morning combine into a milestone weekend that compares favourably to many South Florida and Caribbean options at half to a third of the rate.

Honeymoon

For East Coast couples wanting a wedding-weekend or honeymoon base inside a two-hour drive of New York or Philadelphia, the Water Club delivers a five-star room product (separate non-casino lobby, dedicated concierge, the Glass Pool, the 32nd-floor spa, oversized suites with soaking tubs and Marina views) that no other Atlantic City property attempts. The Opus Suite for the milestone version; the Water Club Premier for the more restrained budget.

Wellness Retreat

The 36,000-square-foot Immersion spa on the 32nd and 33rd floors, the dedicated adults-only Glass Pool, the 32nd-floor fitness centre with floor-to-ceiling Atlantic windows, and the in-room amenity programme together make the Water Club Atlantic City's only true wellness-weekend address. The spa programme runs structured day-spa packages; the in-room massage and yoga services run on request.
